AfterThoughts

The Teenage Years: Tegan - Post Treatment Care, Making Sh*t Happen and The Power of Storytelling

Episode Summary

Every day 34 people in their 20s and 30s are diagnosed with cancer. AfterThoughts explores some of their stories. But teenagers are diagnosed too. Seven people aged 13-24 are diagnosed every day. And that brings with it a whole host of other challenges. These are their stories. This is AfterThoughts: The Teenage Years. Supported by Teenage Cancer Trust. It's episode six (ALREADY?!) and we're bringing you Tegan.

Episode Notes

AfterThoughts: The Teenage Years was created to make visible some of the invisible cancer stories from within the young cancer community.

For the penultimate episode of Series Four of AfterThoughts, we're joined by Tegan. She might have got in from work at a ridiculous hour of the morning but Tegan brought the energy to the podcast to tell us the stories that came from her diagnosis of Non-hodgkins Lymphoma. She was diagnosed with NHL at 18 and  came on AfterThoughts to talk about her Wicked Step Mum, the sink or swim feeling of waiting for results and the importance of making a difference to the futures of young adults facing cancer.
