Every day 34 people in their 20s and 30s are diagnosed with cancer. In Series 1 of AfterThoughts, we heard some of their stories. But for Series 2, we’re going younger. Seven people aged 13-24 are diagnosed every day. These are their stories. This is AfterThoughts: The Teenage Years. Supported by Teenage Cancer Trust. For episode five, we're joined by Debora.
AfterThoughts: The Teenage Years was created to make visible some of the invisible cancer stories from within the young cancer community.
In this episode, Toby and Alice are joined by Debora. Debora was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was 18. We hear stories about mince pies, proton beam therapy, missed diagnosis and the trauma of uncertainty.
